Default 1969 Grand Prix Motor Mounts

What motor mounts are folks using for a 1969 GP w/ a 428? I have a stock motor so I don't need anything super strong.

I tried local parts store mounts and ones from Rock Auto (all are from China), and they are too tall, the fan is hitting the shroud.

I was going to try Mity Mounts part number PM22 and they are out of stock.

In the mean time I ordered a set from Ames, p/n PN550A & B.

Has anybody tried these Ames mounts out?

Thanks

Mike

The last time I bought new mounts for my 69 GP I got them at the local NAPA auto parts store. That was way back in 1994. They were Balkamp part numbers 602-1059 & 602-1060.

I checked those part numbers at Napa and they are no longer valid. The mounts they say fit a 69 GP are incorrect.

I ended up getting the Ames mounts and they are the correct height. There are two issues however. I had to trim the right side mount to clear the long branch exhaust manifold. Another issue is that the threaded hole that attaches the mount to the frame is only 0.39" deep, so the factory bolts (with the "dog point") will not work. I bought aftermarket bolts and had to use washes to get the mount snug.

Sorry that the NAPA part numbers I listed were no longer available. If the mounts you got from Ames required trimming material and/or shimming you need to call them so they can investigate. They should at least put a note in their catalog
