If turns only you could be feeling the posi working

Agreed, sometimes it takes two full bottles of friction modifier for the posi to operate properly. Maybe start with adding half a bottle and see if that helps.

I know this is begging for a rear end and lube joke right now but I’ll behave.

Some of you may remember me posting questions about carb & ignition tuning, as I was having low speed drivability issues. The car was tugging & bucking, kinda like it was in too high of gear for the speed of the car. I’ve done a lot of messing with carb and timing adjustments to no avail.

I decided to see if it could be driveline related. One shop told me, “ there’s no way you can tell, unless you check backlash with a dial indicator. Which I don’t have & they weren’t interested in checking it out for me. Anyway I slid under it & tried to check it out. Looks excessive to me but I don’t know anything anyway. Gonna try & post a video. Please tell me what you think.
Is this an auto or a stick shift and does it have a bit of cam in it.
My 4-speed Tempest does this if going to slow in a certain gear.
Nothing wrong with the rear in my car either. But you can feel the
cam in it when I lug the motor down to much. hopr this helps

Well, yeah there is that. 😁 Always a pleasure to see Tom & Sharon, though it’s been awhile!

How are you getting along?

Stick with 3.08 gears & tall tires. It will do it straight line or turning. I think I notice it more when turning because I don’t generally drive with very light throttle in a straight line. 😁 I‘be got my diagnostic tach wired up ready for a test drive but haven’t be able to check it yet. FIL is having health problems & we’re his support system.
I’ll report back after some testing driving with a tach hooked up. That may shed some light on what’s happening.

Thanks again to all!
