Hey Ollie, I see you have the clearance issue around your waterneck solved. Please refresh my memory since we're on this discussion. What capability does the 7 pin module give you with the 7730? Full timing control?

Yes, you can set the spark advane in the ECM ,from what I understand you can also set a one or two stage rev limiter.
I have the upper hose isue fixed but not like this photo shows. I used the thermostat housing from my 69 428, and a 69/70 GTO upper hose. the housing and hose go almost straight up about 4 or 5 inches and slighty forward over the alt.

"Karch: What are you doing for an IAC on your TB/carb? Are you going with an external unit? I know my car won't cold start without it. Also, are you going with the Tanks Inc. kit for your fuel tank? I've been interested in hearing feedback from someone on it as I may do another EFI system but take a less costly route."

Yes, I plan on using the Tanks system, provided my tank is deep enough. It's still in the car, but looks like it will be close (about 7").

Regarding IAC...I was planning on, actually, not using one for the time being. I live in Los Angeles, which means it rarely gets below 55 degrees when I am driving, as I don't do 3:00 AM drives anymore

I have mounted a later model GM TPS switch to my Holley DP...figure I just won't fuel the carb...then again, maybe I will keep the electric low pressure pump hooked up, just off, if I want to switch back to carbuertor...how's that for parallel systems and redundancy?

Back-up or NOS enrichment are both good ideas - I like it.

Ollie: that's the same style thermostat housing I'm using. I have no clearance problems. You can see pictures with my radiator now installed on my site. I'm glad to hear that you're going to have full spark control and rev limiter. You will also have to run a crank trigger for sequential-correct?

Karch, did you notch the end of the throttle shaft or what, to add the TPS? I do have a couple of old Holleys laying around, could see blanking off the ends for a cheap TB setup. I could see some polished diamond plate aluminum at home there.

Red face

No...kind of crude, but I got a plastic spacer (space-age polymer for an aborted NASA project) and ran a stud in it and into the end of the throttle shaft. I then "machined" the other end to fit into the TPS switch.

I am also working on an EDIS ignition project, as 70LeMansSport knows. Instead of using a currently available trigger wheel, I am thinking of having one or some made...I may get a few to sell to offset the cost.
I think the one I have in this picture is too small...it may work, but I would like one about 7.25" OD.

Let me know if anyone is interested.

Ok, Guys, will send the info on distributor mods, give me a few days to get it together.
Hammered,
Wasnt going to go sequential. From all the reading I have been going the only advantage to sequential is a little smoother idle and a little better emissions.
Above 2000 or 3000 rpm there is no advantage. One thing I thought about is instead of batch fire left bank, right bank. take the fireing order 18436572, 1843 as one bank and 6572 as the second bank.

Karch be sure to get hold of me if you do get a 36-1 wheel made and will be making extras to sell. My aluminum spacer idea will be pretty cheap but it lacks "cool!" factor. I asked a machinist at work if he could make an adapter and he said he could no problem. I told him to take his time and he took that to heart since he hasn't done a thing since I gave him the dimensions 3 weeks ago.

Funny. I learned long ago never tell a machinist or body man to take their time. If you are not in a hurry, don't say a thing...they won't hurry. If you are in a hurry, don't waste your breath, they still won't hurry

Only time they tend to hurry is around April 15, December 23...maybe even December 24.

What diameter would you like? I haven't measured my balancer yet, but I want it just a bit larger than the balancer, but not much so there is no interference with anything else.

Karch,
Sounds about right to me. I was thinking 1/4" at the most.

1/4" on each side, 1/2" diameter? I think that should work well.

I'll send an email to him tonight...I will have to measure the bolt circle for the pulleys, unless you know it???

Karch,

I meant the teeth of the wheel should be above the balancer by no more than 1/4".

I don't know what the bolt pattern is.
