68 350 with 43K for $14K. Good deal if it's all true.

Here's an interesting one... a 68 convert with no reserve (currently at 0.99) and special color. I asked him what the color was and his response is enclosed.

It appeared to be something close to April gold unless it had been completely stripped and repainted- there are no records for spl colors. Spl code was for 4 optional colors and spl-1 was any gm color available in 1968. This car has the spl-1 option so There is no way to know for sure. The phs documents even state unknown color.

Here's a rare one. A 69 Firebird 350HO convertible with special paint, 4-speed, PS/PFDB/Posi, stacked gauges and a fold down seat. It's dressed up as a TA but would probably be worth a lot more if it were stock. He sent me the build sheet and I don't know if the engine/trans are original. Priced too high at $51.9K.

This 69 400 HO is the first one I've seen with over $5K on the PHS.

PHS is for a Los Angeles built car. The vin you listed is also for a convertible. I'd say also since it's only a few hundred off my 69 trans am, Oct/Nov date range on the PHS won't jive. My N106325 was cast in may of 69.

That would have been a pretty sharp car when new!

I had a Ram air GTO vert many years ago that came from that same dealer, also very well optioned. Santa Barbara was and is a 1% type of town, spoiled kids with generous daddies I guess.

btw, interesting that the Cordova top as the last option, on Abodies its always the first option.

I noticed the head restraints were an option. At what point did they make them standard?

Federal law mandated them effective Jan 1st 69. GM installed them on every 69 made but before Jan 1st they were listed as a $16.85 option, on Jan 1st they were made standard and the price of every GM car increased $17. Btw this was about half the price of what the head rest option cost in previous model years.

If the car was built before the 1st Jan than the dealer would remove them and credit the sales price of the option if the customer didn't want them. On Jan 1st or later built cars removal of the headrests was illegal.

There are service bulletins to this effect.

67 Convert 4-speed for $5500 by it now. I would think this was a scam, but the seller has 89 feedback at 100%.

This is a different color combo... brown with a gold interior. Too high at almost $40K. Kinda funky, but I like it.

Cool Yeah...

one-owner '69 GTO locally same combo. Never did like Expresso Brown unless it was paired with Parchment trim...but that's just me.

Color is way off, Expresso is darker and less gold.

Four wheel drive look is a big turn off but a stick is a nice touch in a ragtop.
