Thank you for your quick response, I will pass it along to MFG. The springs are from Eaton Detoit Spring and have a heavy coat of lumpy blackish material on them. It will be hard to remove, and I'll CK out BWB HO!

Hey guys I could use a little help on Spring identification. Does this spring look like a 74 FB front spring. It is suppose to be and Eaton Detroit 455 SD spring, 18 and a half inches long. It is really hard to get compressed and into place. Any suggestions?

SD EX. Flange
Does this look like an original SD 455 exhaust manifold to exhaust pipe flange?? Cast iron.

Anybody have an opinion on this or on the exhaust manifold bolt finish?

SD Formula, My guess is cad plated, but I'm not the expert. Hopefully someone with more knowledge than I will chime in.

Thank you. I had the original bolts replated cad, but started to think maybe that wasn't the correct finish.

Recently the temperature and humidity in Florida has become more suitable for the painting process. The body and other sheet metal parts have been prepped for paint for over a month now. Here's some photos of brown oxide and Honduras maroon painted parts.

Here is something a little different
MFG, my super duty restorer runs a one man backyard shop with one part time helper for cleaning, sanding, bead blasting, etc.
He almost exclusively, does start to finish Restorations. His most prolific work has been on 53 through 67 Corvettes of which he has restored approximately twenty five. All have been NCRS Top Flight and or Bloomington gold certified. In addition he has performed Restorations on many 55 thru 57 Thunderbirds, 55 to 57 Chevrolets, Shelby GT 500 & Mach 1 Mustangs, 1st generation Camaros, & British sports cars, to name a few. When he is not working on restoring cars he restores his own automobile memorabilia such as gas pumps, signs, & other service station equipment, Coke machines, jukeboxes, Whizzer motor bikes & other cool stuff. He has one of the largest spark plug collections in the US. Here are a few photos from his museum. File to big more in next post!

Not exactly on the subject of my SD restoration. Let me know if you like to see any more of the Museum stuff. Even if it's sideways!
Here's a real rare and unusual gas pump. from the 1930s. I think!

Today the body was removed from the rotisserie and moved to the lift where the differential and rear suspension will be attached.
The upper dashboard area will need to be painted before the windshield is installed. Date coded windshield & side glass has been ordered. Reproduction rear, shaded, heated glass does not appear to be available. Luckily the original rear glass is in good shape and the heater function works.
