Default Q-Jet Secondary passage casting flash

There is some casting flash in both secondary passages just below the bleed tubes. Is it ok to remove this?

Mike,
How were you able to confirm that?
Borescope?
If you can see an obstruction then removing it be advised

Yes if you have the right size drill bit.

Jeff,

It's visible from the top with a flash light and located just below the bottom of the pick up tube. It's above the well on the bottom of main housing. About half of the passage is blocked on one side and a little more than half on the other.

That's what I was thinking.

This is what you are dealing with and it should also get drilled out from the bottom, but first you have to grind off and yank out those plugs on the bottom of the fuel bowl.

Thanks for the picture. I thought the passage opened up under what I described as casting flash and could be drilled from the top.

I rebuilt this carb a while back. The factory plugs were replaced with threaded plugs and Marine Tex (Cliff's kit). Any idea on how to remove those?

This all started with what I think is a fuel delivery problem at WOT.
