What is the correct bellhousing number for a 71 GTO 4-speed car? Thanks.

Not sure why the different numbers?

But then again why change any of the years?

The bellhousings were basically the same from 68 on?

I show your number as for 1968-69 originally.

Here is a 71 GTO bellhousing, looks the same as the others though.
(has the dual bolt pattern for the toploader tranny also)

Notice the twisted bolt layouts for 65.

I compared with an actual '70 A-body unit, and '73 plus '74 F-body units. All are cast 9785581. '70 A-body assembly manual as well as '70, '73 and '74 F-body assembly manuals list the same 9785581 PN. Parts books also list the same PN.
