Default Wipers/Washers

On my 70 the washers always come on with the wipers. I've tried unplugging various wires under the hood but they always come on together or not at all.

Any idea how to test the system to see if it's the switch or what? Or, is there any way to disable the washer pump? As a fair weather car I know I will never use the washers.

The washer pump is on the fritz. To disable it remove it from the wiper motor and delete the plastic cam from the backside of the pump, then re-install it.
