This Camaro site has a breakdown of the axle plants. I think it applies to our cars too:

It would be interesting to compare the axle dates to the body shell dates (trim tag) and invoice ship date across a range of cars. My car's body is dated 04C and the axle date 0415 is very close.

I guess you'd figure axle deliveries come in, inventory jumps up, dates are close... inventory is depleted, dates grow apart.
