400 hp from a RAIII 400 is not hard to obtain. We were able to get 385 hp/452 lb-ft torque out of a small valve head (#16) XV 400 4-bbl (330 hp factory rating) with 9.94 compression, unported heads and log exhaust manifolds with just a Summit 2801 cam. Just a careful rebuild with +.030" Icon pistons on new forged rods. Changing to large valve #12 heads (210 cfm vs. 190 cfm), RA exhaust manifolds and the same cam will net 410 hp/475 lb-ft everything else the same.

Just updating this thread. Paul K got me my pistons and rings. The Molnar rods arrived some time ago, but I’m still waiting on the 4.00 stroker crank. The block is back at the machine shop and Paul gave me the specs to tell machinist. I’ll post some pics of the rods/pistons later.
