HELLO,
THE BUILD DATE ON COWL TAG IS 06A. DOES ANYBODY HAVE ANY DETAILS ON THE HIGH ELEVATION OPTION THAT WAS AVAILABLE, I WAS TOLD THAT THERE WAS A HIGH ELEVATION OPTION AVAILABLE THAT CAME WITH AN UPGRADED DISTRIBUTOR AND THE CARB. WAS JETTED MUCH DIFFERENT THAN STOCK AND WERE MORE SENSITIVE TO ADJUSTMENTS. THIS WOULD HAVE BEEN A PERFECT OPTION FOR CARS THAT WERE GOING TO BE DRAG RACE ONLY. DOES ANYONE HAVE ANY INFO ON THIS???

So do any of these "Memo" RA IV Judges have the original #'s matching engines?

HAVE A LEAD ON THE OWNER BEFORE US, STILL TRYING TO TRACK HIM DOWN. SO, MAYBE HE CAN SHED SOME LIGHT ON THE HISTORY. KEEP YOUR FINGERS CROSSED.

The gas tank is probably the hardest place to look, but both of my '70's had them there..all the other places are valid though...DW

I found a build sheet behind the drivers door panel on a '71 GTO once. I have never heard of that one before but it's easy to look there.

I see a pattern, makes one wonder where the other 165 memo cars are for 70? Assuming they are all 70 cars, which it looks that way. If you tell us yours is a 70 built after 12/69, I think it's a done deal.

That price he listed is at the top of all the invoices like this I have, I don't think it was the actual billing price, but a base cost. IMO

I'm hoping Ron will share more with us. If not I'll have to go up there and make him drink large amounts of beer until he talks.

I wish they would have linked updates.

As to MEMO cars, it could have meant anything, even stripe delete.

Agree -

The MEMOs were essentially "white papers", meaning not a prescribed form but a free expression document. They were written by one person (...his name escapes me right now...) and usually dealt with more mundane topics like special instructions for taxi cabs or fleet vehicles. They were not written in any particular order (that is, if one was written about a Super Duty car the next one could be about something totally different).

I asked Fred Simmonds if any of the MEMOs were kept, or if the contents were known and he said no. I was asking at the time specifically about the '63 Super Duty cars, like the Swiss Cheese Catalinas and the SD Tempest/Lemans.
