Could be tall the street tires were tearing up the track surface laid down by the slick cars. Is your front end nice and loose? Remove the serations off the bushings etc?

My car is set up the way I always race it and it usually hooks pretty good. Like I said, I seemed to be the only one having trouble- I may just have been pushing a bit too hard. It's a fine line when using these tires.
