I just registered to this site today. I'm not sure how to create a thread, but I have a 72 Lemans Sport convertible with the 400. It's the GTO clone for 72 and the only year that Lemans built this car for the GTO enthusiasts who wanted a convertible. GTO did not offer a convertible in 72. It is a definite project car. I have stored this for the past 15 years thinking each year is the year I start building it. Hasn’t happened yet. I have no idea what it’s worth. The body is decent, interior is decent, the frame is solid, it’s all original with matching numbers. I even have the original glass that was in the top. Its white on white with the camel interior. I have extra seats, hood, many parts and pieces that was with it when I bought it. You can reach me at acemkt@gmail.com My name is John

Default 69 GTO ragtop

We may be relocating again. I may have to part with my 69 GTO ragtop. It is a 400 th400 factory a/c with a bunch of options. It currently has 4 wheel disc brakes, but I have all the #'s match parts for it. If interested I can provide more info. It is a good runner driver. I am third owner.

Default 69 GTO ragtop pictures

These are pictures from about 2 years ago. Since I have added Baer 4 wheel discs, and Eibach springs. The engine was replaced with one that I built for my 66 Tempest wagon. I had the trans redone and added a TS 2500 rpm converter, no leaks anywhere. All of the underhood was then detailed. I made all new brake lines reinstalled the factory AC and rebuilt the ventilation controls. The car has the following. Factory front disc brakes, AC, tilt, AM/FM, hood tach, his n hers shifter, power top, power trunk release, rear wing, 1970 3:55 posi rear, p/s, wood wheel and other stuff I can't think of right now. It comes with the original engine, trans and rear end as well as a set of rally II's and red stripes. The original brakes are also included.
Now the bad news. The car has never really been restored. It was painted in 1981 and could use paint. It needs front lower quarter patches and the original top needs to be replaced.
The car runs and drives better than it did in 1969. It never overheats even in 90 plus weather. I took a 2nd place in class trophy at one of the local Pontiac shows last summer. First show, first trophy. In my experience these shows are very political and outsiders never win.
I can get more current photos when I finish installing the new Magnaflow exhaust.
If you are interested we can talk about a price.

Sure i am! It doesnt hurt to try. like i said, i dont care if i sell it or not. I've got a new engine and some parts i'm going to install in the spring so i can "drive the hell out of it". Isn't that your motto? The uglier the better, rustolium paint job and all, i'm gonna burn the tires off of it till theres nothing left! Where's that RA V? LOL.
