Here's a list of interested participants. Hopefully we can make this happen with enough promotion. There's 18 to start and several have suggested they know others will come with them.

This should be a show in addition to a drag event for maximum turn out (IMHO) but whatever you guys think. It's also nice to see Island have business too some I'm glad for them as well.

Maybe Pontiacs from clubs throughout Pa should can be reached out too? I can push the event in downstate NY and also reach out to some NJ guys as well. April? May? June? What do you guys think? I prefer all Pontiac over B-O-P but whatever. . .

I used to go to Islands Pontiac events back when they had them. I'd be game!

Yes. Sold it last spring. I'd be bringing my 76 TA street car.

count me in for a show and go... depending on the dates. Was just there in November. Glad the track is running again.

I see Island is looking for dates for 2014 on their website.

Maybe if we flood them with email, they would give us a date, or possibly a BOP day.

I'd be willing put up $200 toward a weekend track rental.
Open the gates to the public for a $50 entry
Anything additional over the track fee goes to racer payout.

As with our other events, once you let em go it's hard to get em back.

As always, I'm in for whatever works.

Well, I decided to be proactive and emailed Melissa DeMarkey (Island Dragway) about this idea. I brought up the fact that there are two big Pontiac shows in the area to possibly tie into: PY in June, and POCI in ?Sept/Oct?

Turns out someone else is interested in doing a "Domestic Iron" deal on Father's Day but hasn't committed yet. If he does she is willing to work the Pontiac theme into that. If he drops out we could do something on our own. Since it doesn't look like Maple Grove is happening this year maybe this would be a good way to cap the PY weekend?

Second choice would be the fall date like it used to be.

I did explain that unless someone steps up with $$$, this is just an informal "show up and race/hang out" idea for now, which I think is ok with her. Also, I want to say I'm not trying to pass myself off as a promoter or organizer by any means. I realize these things are big undertakings - I'm just trying to help the idea gain some traction.

Melissa promised to get back to me about Father's Day - in the meantime the floor is open for ideas.

I would like that - only 2 hours from home & on my way back from PY.

Spoke to Melissa at driver's meeting Sat. She's still waiting to hear from the Domestic Iron guys about a Father's Day deal but either way something could go on that day.

In the meantime it would be helpful to have an idea what everyone prefers - if we tie in with PY then it's Father's Day - is that an issue? Or is later in the year better - ie: after the POCI show like it used to be. Or does that not matter and it can be anytime?

I think Father's Day would have a low car count

There is a reason that day is open, nobody wants to have an event on a holiday. I have talked to several people about this falling on fathers day and they are all opposed to it.

Island is reaching out to see if there is still interest in this. They are willing to help organize it. Father's Day seems to be out but how about a late summer/early fall Sunday like it used to be? I still think it would be nice to tie in to a regional show but can't find any info on the POCI show this year. Any ideas on possible dates??

I will make every effort to attend, the only weekend,at this time, that doesn't work for me is Labor Day weekend Aug 29 - 31. That is the weekend of the Yellowbullet Nationals at Cecil.

Thanks for your follow-up and efforts.

I'd love to go. Sept 21 is good, as are the sundays before and after. I have a friend who also wants to bring his new lemans.
