Default Quadrajet fuel leak

I have a really small/slow leak. There's a tiny bit of fuel around the accelerator pump shaft coming out of the airhorn. With the car running, I don't see anything running out, pumping spraying etc. It's just wet with fuel that seems to be seeping up around the shaft (or so I think??). Even though I don't see volumes of fuel running out, there is evidence that it has seeped down the carb onto the intake. Doesn't change with operation of the throttle. So do I need a new accelerator pump or something else? Thanks.

I have that on my qjets too, just some slight seepage or dampness when I pull the air cleaner, never caused a running problem or dripped down onto the intake so I just let it be.

Cliff mentioned a seal? some had or that the hole where the shaft comes through can be slightly tightened up. Hopefully he will chime in on that.

The hole in the air horn gasket for the pump shaft could be getting oblonged, or the pump cup itself may not be sealing in the well and then instead of fuel only moving out into the primary's it comes back up towards the top of the Carb.

I talked with Cliff and he thinks it's the airhorn gasket. Makes sense as he explained it. If there was enough fuel getting past the accelerator pump to come up out the top, I'd be having other big problems too, which I'm not. So I bought parts from him and hopefully that will solve it.

So here's the follow up on this fuel leak. Long story short, I got ripped off bad on this carb and had a rebuild that was not good.

I took off the air horn hoping to replace the gasket, maybe resurface the bottom. Unbelievably, I found the underside of the air horn was badly corroded and rotted away. I bought the carb from Chicago Corvette 2-3 years ago. Lesson learned.

When I had it rebuilt and recalibrated for my motor, this was never even mentioned to me. It just got put back together like you see. On top of that, one of the primary rod tips was bent at a 45 degree angle and was obviously not seated in the jet. In hindsight, I'm really surprised by how well it ran and the fact that it took as long as it did for the leak to start.

Fortunately, I have another air horn that I can put on the carb. So I'm gonna put it back together and see how it goes.

It looks like that air horn was soaked in acid of some kind to clean it!
That air horn should have never have been reused by whoever is rebuilding those carbs if not that company.

I should also say many thanks to Shaker455 who is an awesome dude. I was feeling frustrated by this so I contacted him about a possible rebuild. He went through everything with me and looked at lots of photos of what I have and while he was happy to rebuild for me, he suggested/recommended that I just swap it out the for the good air horn that I have so that's what I'm gonna do.
