Amazon, $125 for 5 gallons delivered.

Thank God, sprint cars run on methanol......

I've already been talking to my wife that racing in all forms is going to take a huge hit from energy costs. Both spectator and participants are going to have to think long, and hard about if they can afford to go to the races.

Promoters can't afford to pay more, because if the raise they admission, it will kill the gate. At current purses it's no where near enough to keep every team afloat. It always has been an expensive hobby, but some will park their cars, or try to find someone that may want to buy them.

Every time energy costs rise racing suffers as it did after 2008. The car counts, as well as crowds decreased rapidly when money, and energy costs jump.

Paid 316.70 + 40 bucks for a 55 gal barrel for all gas 92 unleaded ! I figured it would be 8$ a gallon by summer. And since it is less money than pump 87 right now I can always run it in my truck in a emergency.
Just a bracket racer so I do not see the point of building a race gas engine for "lowly bracket racing"
High CR and alcohol if I was serious about it. Then I would be seriously broke with all the travel !

I paid $4.92/gal for 100LL (100 octane avgas) last week in lovely SoCal.
The next day paid $5.60 for 91 octane car gas. Today 91 is around $6.00.

Paid $5.09 gallon for 100LL AV gas. I mix it 4:1 with Q16. Paid $120 for 5gal of Q16, last year it was $85
Getting to the races is the $$$ part. Cost $450 to fill up the motorhome. Need to sell a kidney before the next race.

I think entires will be down this year if the prices stay up.

My 5.99 110 went from 5.99 to 8.49 last year. Haven't checked this year yet. Picked up a e85 Dominator, even e85 is almost $4 ga. Truck gets 8mpg if im lucky with slide in camper and open trailer , so going to suck for the far away races....

The old saying used to be, Racing is expensive, how fast do you want to go...Now it is, How often can you afford to go...?

No offense to anyone here...
I could never fathom having a "race" only vehicle. A pump gas, street driven "Hot Rod" has been my only vision of any of my vehicles, Like Jim Hand, Cliff and others...

YIKES.....
i wasn't paying that much when i ordered from VP last year
i'll need to check, or should i say not check and just order lol
ETS racing fuels and VP were not bad to deal with and shipped right to the house
there were discount codes i used too which helped a lot

ets prodrag fuel was nice, but it unleaded (if thats a concern)

i know PSC offers a great one time yearly shipping fee, but that was select states near the east coast

local off road/motorcycle shop is a VP dealer, but they take a while to get anything other than T4 and UB4.4. T4 is a nice fuel, UB4.4 was a bitch to start, had to crank for a longer time. VP 110 started very easily and quickly.
