Do you need the J bolt in addition to the upper bracket?

I've been thinking about reproducing them if there is enough demand. Are the 73-77 all the same? There are two varaitions that I know of. GM replacements had thicker wire than the originals.

That would be very cool to repro them. When I find them (not very often), they are usually rusty. Mostly they are just completely missing! I'd be interested in a nice "new" one! David

Thanks to AMES..
They list both parts. The upper bracket is a reproduction, and the J bolt is an original GM part. PP126J 1973-77 Battery Hold-Down Clamp - All (APE).. 15.00/ea. Original battery hold-downs become corroded and ruin the appearance of an engine compartment. These reproductions are made in our own shop using correct diameter steel rod. After fabricating these clamps to exact specifications they are dipped, producing the desired coating. PP132 1973-77 Battery Hold-Down Bolt - GP (GM) ..... 8.00/ea. Also, thanks to LEADSOLO for finding this.

Good news that they are being reproduced. I'll have to buy one to see how well they matched the originals.

Yes, I see them in the Grand Prix catalog, but not in the a-body catalog. Are the GP hold-downs and bolts the same as the a-body?

Yes, on the 73-77 Grand Prix. I don't know about the earlier years.

Shame the battery tray isn't being reproduced...it's not the same between A and G bodies, as I recall, and they're not making either.

The A body and G body battery trays are identical, Dave. Even the inner fenders are the same.
Most of the underhood parts interchange between the A and G bodies '73-'77. However, the core support is different.

Thanks for the correction, Rick. I've looked hard at precisely zero GPs in recent years (other than at Norwalk last year) and thought they were different. Glad to know I was wrong, for once (actually, a lot more than once, just ask my wife...and I meant also that usually I'm not glad about being wrong...).
