Well I just have to say that some of my cars
came with a remote trunk lock push button,..I always made
them work,..but why?..any *****head that would want to break
into your car would just love to find that after they popped your
glove box all they needed to do next was push the trunk release
and now they have access to your contents,..many ways to put voltage
to that button without accessory switch,...just my thoughts

Arrow Correct 1966 A-Body Trunk Releases

FWIW;
If your looking for the correct release for 1966 TEMPEST/LEMANS/GTO there were only two (2) offered.
The vacuum actuated pull system shown in the first four images.
This was a Factory and/or Dealer installed release, and was used in 1966 only and VHTF.
The fifth image is the early Pull Cable which was a carry over from 1965.

The power release came out for 1967, but will fit/function.

So the electric trunk release was not available until 1967?
