2nd gen / eldo rear calipers
I’ve read about these and I ended up with a set of them anyway. So what is the best way to stop the leaky seal around the ebrake lever? I did read someone’s post about adding an o-ring or something but can’t find that post now. These are calipers I received in a rear disc conversion kit from TheRightStuff, not sure if they are new or rebuilt but I have a call in to call them as well, waiting for a call back. I would like to know how to fix these as it sound like they are just prone to leak there.
Edit: I meant seville not eldorado. lol

Still up on jackstands here looking for help. It leaks much worse when I apply the parking brake and then apply the brakes. I bought a rebuild kit just to see whats inside. The metal washer with the rubber inside goes inside the calper on the shaft for the ebrake. I think this is where it must leak. The larger black rubber washer goes on the outside of the caliper and I don't think the fluid should get to this point.
I just don't know what can cause that inner rubber washer to leak or if somehow fluid is getting under the metal washer and rubber washer. I'm beginning to think in that post I previously read that someone replaced that rubber washer with an o-ring. I have another set of calipers coming from TheRightStuff but I don't have alot of confidence in the replacements at this point and I think it would be a good idea to find out how to fix the leak.

You might just have a bad set of rebuilds. There is the outer seal on he ebrake shaft but there should be one on the inside. I was never able to rebuild one myself (tried) so I cant help you much there. I would try a new set.

My memory is foggy on this but there an o-ring on the adjuster shaft. inside the caliper there is a nylon thrust washer, then on the outside of the caliper there is a reinforced black rubber cup washer. I think most of the leaks are because the sealing surface for the o-ring is too rough or pitted. The O-RING on the adjuster shaft IS the seal. the outside cup washer is a wiper to keep dirt out. Hope this helps.

Just a follow up. It was a bad set of rebuilds. I recieved the replacement calipers and they work great. No leaks and the brakes are fantastic!
