My turn signal lever is for a cruise control and I broke it off on the plastic end. I bought a NOS replacement for it. It has the wire to it and I have never taken a steering wheel/column appart. How hard is this to do?
Thanks, Robert

Robert,
You will need a steering wheel puller and a shop manual to accomplish this task. Referring to the exploded view, remove screws/clips attach the horn ring/button which will expose the large nut that secures the steering wheel. Remove the nut and attach the puller to the holes in the wheel hub. Following the puller instructions, remove the wheel. Once the wheel is removed you have access to the cancel cam and the turn signal lever. Locate the existing lever's cruise wiring outlet @ the bottom of the steering column by gently tugging on it and seeing which wire moves @ the floor. Tape the new lever's cable to a straight piece of coat hanger and carefully feed it thru the steering column in the same area that the original was locted. It was harder to describe it then it is to do it. Les is right. It easier to do than describe. Are you removing an aftermarket cruise control? If so, and if you only broke the lever and the switch is fine, the task is even easier as once you have the wheel pulled, you'll see a couple screws holding the lever. Unscrew and replace.

Do you have to take apart the horn or anything on the steering wheel itself or just the cover that covers the bolt?

If you don't get your answers by tonight, tell me what steering wheel you have and I'll post the diagram for you when (if) I get home.

You have to remove anything that covers the securing nut and the puller holes per the service manual.
