Default Speaker switch

Can you tell me the best way to remove the speaker switch from a 66 Bonneville that's under the dash pad that controls the the speakers from front to rearThe problem I'm having is the front speaker isn't working. If I play with the switch I can get it to work but with in a few minutes it stops.Or is there a way to replace or repair without removing it ?
Thanks

I think you have to pull the pad to get at the speaker. Might be able to get it from under neath but would be harder I think.

If there is ANY way you can get at it without pulling the pad you should do it. I don't think you will be able to, but it is such a pain to remove that you should try everything first. If you have to remove, I would replace the speaker (Some very good replacement options available for about $35) and do anything else you can think of while in there. Note all locations of factory tape & replace when you remove as this prevents all manner of squeaks.
