Default 61-63 Parts Wanted

Casperson signed off on selling parts in the Tech forum. Makes sense to have a wanted thread as well. Lets try to keep all parts wanted requests in the Tech forum to this sticky.

Default 63 steering wheel

Looking for a black steering wheel for my wife's 63. I have a half descent horn ring but the two wheels I have are badly cracked. I have a deluxe one that needs repaired but $1500 plus exchange is too much.

Default Rochester 2GC

I am trying to locate a choke manifold plate for the 63 336. Ames has it listed for the 195-4 only - part LN401D. I spoke with Ames and they did not know if it would fit. Has any one tried this part in the 336. Another option I am considering is pluging and going with an electric choke. Can any one recommend an electric choke for the 2GC. Thanks,

Heres a few pics of the kick down cable for ya.
What kind of shipping would I do to ship this.
It's awful long. I've got some long card board tubes
that might work. Anyway heres the pics.

On the lower ball joints, there are ball joints advertised on Ebay, etc. as fitting the 63 but they don't. The correct 63 uses a "pressed-in fit" style and the wrong ones are threaded (screw-in) types used on Buick Skylarks.

I suggest that you buy a complete rebuild kit from KANTER. It won't include a new/rebuilt Pitman arm.

When I needed one for my 62, I used 2 of the adapters for a Lokar throttle cable. I used one on each end. Although you may need to open the hole on the carb and also the trans for the stud to go through.

I went to my local hardware store and bought a length of small cable. I was lucky, in that the tube was still in the car, just not the cable. I suppose if you don't have the tube, a piece of brake line would work.

Gary, How recent is the RARE PARTS info? A few years ago I talked with them about the manual units and they were wanting about $280 and you had to furnish a core piece. They told me that supplies of core pieces had virtually dried up at that time.
