Default 65 brake light, all lights checkout

Helping a friend with 65 GTO conv full restoration. Trying to check everything as we go. Not sure if can check brake lights without steering column installed? Also curious on how system works with front marker lights that work with blinker lever, flasher and how locks on dash blinker if lamp is bad.

Brake lights go through the turn signal switch which mounts on the steering column.
