Default Charcoal color code for pontiac rally wheels?

Hi I know this has been discussed numerous times. I am refinishing a set of wheels for my 74 and need to get some paint mixed up for the charcoal color. I have already sandblasted, epoxied and sprayed them in the argent silver urethane. I know the ppg paint code is no longer good for the charcoal but have a formula for it. The only problem is, ppg is not available at my local paint shops and I normally use RM products. Does anyone know of a current paint code that might cross over to another system other than the PPG that would look correct? Thanks.

They original used a Dupont Flat Grey Enamel Metallic or equivalent, with long code that now matches nothing in the GM Manuals.

Later Manuals and paint charts list that as then being Rally II wheels Charcoal Grey for Firebird models. PPG WE-3681 DDL-32947. Argent for spokes (W35E-3024) DQE-8568.

Various brands offer their version of 32947 Charcoal Grey.

I used Motobase base coat and SPI Universal Clear

Look good, but not nearly enough contrast in the darker charcoal if after an original look.

I am hoping to stay as close to the original color as possible and hope to finish them up next week so I will have to make a decision soon. Thanks for the replies.

Contrast has a lot to do with the light source "temperature"
In a shop, or garage many have a white light, Floro, or LED that is really NOT what the Sunshine will show.
What Roger1 has done is a very good and Durable job and the colors will look great outside.
IF you want to spray bomb it, Our Host Ames sells the paint in cans.
Even with that, I highly recommend the SPI clear that Roger1 used. When letting it sit for 30 min AFTER mixing and Before spraying, the UV protection is the Highest you can get in a clear coat.

i used the rustoleum brand spray can wheel paint for my rally 2 also, while it might not be 100% correct original it is very close and is a excellent quality paint for a spray can.

i used their silver & charcoal after a standard primer using the trick to pour some into the seam as spraying doesnt get it down in the seam very well & will lead to rust later on, did that with the argent too before spraying the whole wheel.

as a final step i used some matte clear wheel paint for a little extra protection & since these werent a full 100% gloss originally from what i've seen, they were more of a semi or satin sheen and a very thin coating, too thick where it fills in the stamped codes or rounds the edges of the spokes & too glossy doesnt look right.

i did the spoke masking by hand with great results but suggested the stencils for my friend & they worked good too.

Thanks.
I haven't had an opportunity to take outdoor photos yet. I think the Charcoal color still may appear lighter than a lot of them I've seen though. But, I really like how they look so am not concerned if the color is lighter than factory or not. Plus my car is somewhat of a mild restomod making it not an issue for me. I also painted the inside of the wheels with black epoxy primer instead of the Dove gray they are supposed to be. Wasn't concerned with that either.

I did use high quality products and I spent an inordinate amount of time on them and I think that all paid off. I'm sure they shine more than they are supposed to but, I prefer that look.

The GM paint charts list them as being 'flat' albeit with years of washing and cleaning that will give them a slight sheen. That will also prevent brake dust sticking so easily.
