Default Who to use for steering box rebuild?

Seems I used a place in Missouri once, think it was Power Steering Services, heard good things about Lee. Have a PS box that needs gone through, would be nice to quicken it and give it some better road feel.

Lee has rebuilt two boxes for me. Upgraded a 68 box from 17.5 to 14.1 and 30# Torsion bar, and a 70 box for my El Camino SS to 12.1 and a 35# bar. Excellent work and attention to detail.

The bad; price had almost doubled in the 5 years between the two rebuilds and lead time is several months.

I used Lee and I'd first like to say their customer service these days seems great! The reason I had to engage with them is because I had a box built about 10(?) years ago; right around the time the company transitioned from the founder to the current owners. I've never been happy with it - I didn't feel like it re-centered the way it did before I sent it in. Last year I called to ask if there was anything I could adjust to get that self-aligning feeling back (I've already tried front end alignment, no change, and another box, which worked better but didn't have the ratio I wanted). When I explained the situation and the low miles despite the number of years elapsed, he told me to send it in and they'd make sure nothing was done incorrectly during reassembly. He asked some questions to make sure I'd done my due diligence in troubleshooting, but no pushback about, "that's not possible with our builds," or, "you're way out of any possible warranty." I haven't yet taken the time to pull the box, but I appreciated the willingness to make it right without a lot of roadblocks.

We got ours from Lee. It wasn't my box rebuilt, but they would have, if I had sent my original one to them. Best improvement that we've made on the car. Less turns lock to lock and the feel is akin to a modern car. It was expensive, but worth every penny in our books.

Can't say enough good things about the Borgeson 800130 box, if you might be considering an off-the-shelf replacement.

Thanks guys. We installed a Borgeson on a C10, though its still a rolling frame.

Lee got back to me , they have a turn time of 2 weeks but I'm not sure the owners want to spend the money yet. Quote to rebuild, upgrade to QR and #, along with going through the pump is close to $1300 without shipping. Yikes.

On my 67 GTO I installed a PSC box, PSC remote reservoir with a type 2 pump and it is really nice. But spendy too...
