Default Cheap-ass not worth a crap glove box lights

Does anyone make one that isn't a piece of crap? One that actually works instead of just pushing the plunger off to the side?

67 GTO. Have tried two from different suppliers, they are identical POS's.

I bought mine from Ames. Been working great for a few years.

They are cheap. My fix? Stabilize the base. How. I used double stick tape and used a thick plastic/nylon washer at the base of plunger stem to help guide it straight as the glove box door pushes on it while closing. I'm the only one who sees it when I rarely open the glove box. I also no longer notice my glove box light on at night in the garage! Luckily my car always sits with a battery tender on it. I would've had a dead battery more than once and would've been scratching my head as to why!!

Also sounds like the spring used is far too tough, pushes the mounting as much as the spring. Need something a tad mushier.
