As a pilot I’ve heard that radio transmission (speed check) story quite a few times occasionally when I fly at our local towered airfield with air force jets on site we hear that same type of thing and I think k of that story.

He said he wasn’t a hero just a survivor but I disagree his sr71 time made him an absolute hero those missions saved lives no doubt
