I read the posts that are very good regarding the refinish of an endura bumper however they are pretty old. Are there any new products which improve the process or are the steps and products outline in the forum still the preferred method?

Nothing I'm aware of that I would be willing to try. The 3m flexible parts repair works excellent and sands easily. As far as epoxy primers I'm sure there are some others out there that would work but again the spi gives excellent results. The key to a lasting repair is to be sure and repair all the cracks and not to apply the epoxy or paints to heavily.

I refinished mine two years ago with the mentioned procedure and products and still like new today.

I used SPI epoxy primer followed by some 3M 2-part flexible filler followed by more SPI epoxy primer.
Follow my beginning to end progression starting with this post in my build thread: https://forums.maxperformanceinc.com...36#post6267136 You can put on as many coats of SPI epoxy as you like. It will never crack. Neither will the SPI Universal Clear I used for the topcoat.

I called Spi when I ordered my epoxy and they told me not to over apply it. Might be fine to apply several coats just going on what they suggested. Mine has been painted for two years and looks like I just painted it.

Can't remember who I talked to over there as it was a couple years back but I think he told me 2-4 light coats. I imagine a decent bit of it is getting sanded off anyhow so more probably wouldn't hurt anything at all and that might be what he was thinking as well. There was a member here a number of years back that really highlighted this whole process and put SPI on the map on these forums. Paulatfast was his forum name, havent seen him on here since around 2010. He ran a Pontiac restoration company and did a ton of these bumpers, he did some really nice work! When I painted mine I put just enough base to cover then did 3 light coats of clear. So far it's holding up perfectly and I hope it stays that way.

I put on 8 coats total. I put on the first 4 and then put the 3M filler on without sanding early in the re-coat window. Then I sanded it all in to match the body. I then followed up with 4 more coats of epoxy and installed back it on the car after it had been primered. Then I sanded both the body and bumper so make it all edge match perfectly. It doesn't matter how many total coats of epoxy are applied, if it's laid down as directed, it will never shrink or crack.
