68 Firebird Front Body Mount Bushings
Hello all,
I posted this question in the first gen firebird section a number of days ago but no hits, thought I would try here. I'm in the middle of replacing the body mount bushings on my 68 firebird. I've loosened them all on the driver side and removed the rear and the middle mount on the passenger side. I have managed to remove the bolt from the core support mount. When I jacked up the body I'm able to remove the rear and middle mounts but the front mount I simply cannot get enough clearance to remove it. I can't lift the body any further as the body is beginning to interfere with the front bumper. Can anyone provide any advice on how to tackle the front mounts? Do I need to remove the bumper? Thanks

You should ONLY do one side at a time ( per GM )
Likely you should insert a long drift pin in the alignment hole on DS at the cowl mount. Have seen all sorts of trouble trying to do these back and forth. Doors hitting fenders is one..

understood...I'm attacking one side currently. have all the bolts removed from the passenger side and have only loosed the driver side to allow for the body to lift/tilt. The problem I'm having is with the front body mount bushings at the core support. As I lift the body on the passenger side, the body does rise in relationship to the frame and the front bumper. The front fenders come in contact with the bumper before there is enough clearance to remove/replace the bushing.
