Default 2nd gen centre console construction

Were all factory centre consoles made of the same construction. I have a 76 manual and a 77 auto and the interior is kind of a black plastic, complete with cracks, with a heavy vinyl covering.
I recently picked up a 73 project car, and the manual console looks like the same vinyl over a hard fibreglass shell ?. Assuming this might have been an early reproduction of some sort ?
Although some of the steel bracketry etc looks very similar to the later 2 that i have?

Since GM makes the Camaro also, my 75 had plastic as well as my 72 Lemans too.

I’ve never heard of any 2nd gens having a fiberglass console from the factory.
