I never realized how similar they look- until today
One of these is a tube of hydrocortisone, the other is toothpaste, kept in the same drawer.
I assure you that you never want to mix them up. Now if I could just find something to get this greasy taste out of my mouth.

A fun prank is to take the lid off of a tube of toothpaste, put some spackling putty on top, then put the lid back on.

I've done the opposite.
When I went to Autofair swap meet, I camped on the vendor spot. I took a small zip-up case big enough for toothbrush, toothpaste, hydrocortisone, soap, deoderant, etc. I had a spot on my leg start itching during the night, and put toothpaste on it. |

I mistook Preparation H for toothpaste once about 35 years ago. Tastes awful lol.

My older brothers used to take Oreo cookies and take out the cream filling and replace it with toothpaste and then had it to me.

We switched the caps on my mom’s spray cans, back when everything came that way. She sprayed underarm deodorant in her hair. We never did that again.

When my father was quite old, and had dementia, my mother said he accidently put toothpaste on his hair, instead of hair gel. She was laughing when she told me the story about him coming out to breakfast with toothpaste on his head, but I wasn't there, and had to hear about it from her. There were no pictures.
It seems you don't have to have dementia though, to make the mistake after reading these posts..... |

It definitely didn't work. It was dark and I was extremely tired when I got the two mixed up, but it resulted in a warm sensation and the itching got worse.

One of my coworkers said his wife mistook finger nail glue for contact lens drops and put glue in her eyes.
Spend the day in ER after that. She now put them in different drawers.

Wow, there's no humor in that for sure.
Years ago when I repaired two way radios, sometimes we would use a drop of super glue to reattach small tracers and lands to the fiber printed circuit boards. I inadvertently touched the tip of my soldering iron to one of those spots and a small puff of white smoke floated up into my eyeball and holy cow! Terrible pain for 30 seconds or so.

My grandma mistook Catnip spray for hairspray one time. Could not figure out why her cat was suddenly playing in her hair after she sat down on the couch. We still laugh about this 30 years later. RIP Grandma.
