Default 1977 TA 6.6 revised ignition timing.

I have a recently purchased 77 TA, W72, TH350, 3.23 rear axle. Original engine, totally stock. It had a lot of timing chain slop, so it was replaced. I'm putting Cliffs Carb kit in and realized the Distributor had been replaced by some Parts Store Reman and the Vacuum Advance is bad. I'm deleting the EGR, but still using the original Intake Manifold. Is there a "revised" timing advance curve and Vacuum Advance I should use while deleting the EGR? I found a 78 TA distributor to take the place of the reman, so at least that's closer to correct.

im sure others will have more input for you... but i have a w72 t/a with a basic stockish rebuild, deleted the egr & have a cliff built carb on it, i kept the original timing spec and it runs great with no detonation or other timing related issues.

Did Cliff know that you are planing to ditch the EGR?
It matters .

all specs & info on the car/engine were provided... built the carb based on that. no mention of timing changes.

can you explain what changes to timing are needed for removing an EGR valve?

I did mention it, Cliff didn't say if it mattered or not, and I don't think the kit is any different, he didnt say if I needed to replace any jets or rods? We really didnt discuss it in depth. The engine was missing the lower EGR plate under the carb. I found one through the 77-81 TA Parts for Sale
