I think what you need to do if you are going to install a new harness and are not experience in electrical work is get scrap material and practice making terminal conceptions before you start.
For the ignition switch terminal, my memory is that the sketch in the electrical diagram is not the same view you see when lying on your back under the dash. I would advise sketching up the eight or nine (ac) terminal connection as you see it on your back and identify the correct color and function for each. Pay attention to black because there are a couple of them and operate in different key positions. |

Here is a shot of the back of the ignition switch backside plug. I might have one with identified wire color/functions some place. Note, as someone pointed out that there are 2 black wires used for different functions and going to different places!
