Adjusting Guide Plates
A question for the engine builders. When installing/adjusting guide plates what is the recommended minimum clearance between the pushrod and the guide plate. These are Comp Cams hardened guide plates. Also what is the recommended torque for the rocker studs lubricated with engine oil? I'm thinking 60 Ft. Lb.

Some of the aftermarket heads need sealant on the intake studs to avoid sucking oil into the intake tract. If yours have open holes, use some sealant.

.030” front to rear would be nice, but the most critical is the push rod towards the rocker stud .
Run a exh and Intake valve through a opening and closing cycle and confirm you always have at least .020” Nothing up top there should expand with the engine up to temp to eat up that .020”.

There is no front to rear clearance issue only side to side. Thanks

If side to side is an issue just take a little metal off with a file. ARP 8740 rocker studs are 55 ft lb with ARP lube, not oil.

then 60 with oil should be good. Yeah I know how to get them adjusted by moving the plate side to side and bending the tangs a bit was just curious what the minimum side clearance should be
