Default A body differential ear bushings

I am changing out my 8.2 for a new diff. I currently have the Detroit Speed urethane bushings in the upper ears. Detroit Speed does not seem to sell them as a separate item, so I am looking for an alternative and looking for suggestions. I saw that RideTech offers their “R joint” and wondering if anyone had tried it. I also suspect that the urethane bushings could be causing some of the noises I hear in the back, but then I have DS stuff all around. Any suggestions will be appreciated. Thank you.

I question realizing any benefit when articulated bushings are used in only one area when the rest of mine are urethane. Also, how well do they hold up with over 550 lbs. of torque and a hard launch?

For a long time the general consensus was to go with stock rubber bushings on the diff. The polyurethane bushings bind up the action of upper control arms.

The reason I switched to the Roto-Joints is that I don't believe the replacement rubber compounds are the same as the 50 year old originals I pulled out. I didn't want Poly so the Roto-Joint seemed like a reasonable alternative. I didn't want to go back and replace the rubber bushings after 5 years or so

I replaced the bushings in the upper arm with rubber so that should isolate the harshness, if any, of the Roto.

I think one of the things I am worried about is that all four control arms are DSE adjustable tubular with urethane on all four arms, and I don’t intend to change them as they have helped with handling a lot, as well as the sway bars and springs, which are a kit. I am probably over thinking this, but willing to make changes if they will help. Thanks for your responses.

More in the front than in the back but I have found the ride to be a lot more “stiff” than most people are used to.

I had all 4 roto joints in uppers. Destroyed the ones in the diff. Talked to UMI and they recommended i change out the diff joints to urethane and leave the other uppers rotos. I did that early last year. All good so far lots of launches at the strip.

I contacted UMI and they suggested I use the urethane for best ride. Their customer service said the roto joints were for uneven road surfaces.
