5/16” to 3/8” doesn’t sound like much but it represents a 50% increase in fuel volume potential.

That's pretty amazing what 1/16" in diameter can make at that scale!

Are you tempted to go the route of the pre-production ram air through a right side hood tach housing thing? Would look neat and pretty easy to fab. A mid 70's pontiac 4 bbl air cleaner rotated 180 degrees would look and fit just right, they used the same sort of ducting to an air intake beside the rad.

I might have a rocker molding for one side, they were standard even on the Tempest. Wheel opening moldings were optional on the Tempest and the Custom S (standard on LeMans and GTO).

That would be interesting to do...we do have a 73/74 4-bbl air cleaner, an empty hood tach shell, and a ...wait a minute, I'm getting carried away again...lol!

69 350-HO E.T. - 2+2 4door ?

Rocker moldings might be the same as repop GTO
Less the emblem holes.
Would need a verify measurement.

Shipping could be excessive on used rocker moldings.
But I probably have some used 68-9 LeMans 2door moldings (with emblem holes)

If 2door is same , probably cost-wise best bet would be to pick up some from a vendor at a show / convention / etc....

Baron, The 4-drs have a 116" wheelbase vs. the 2-drs 112", so the rocker moldings are 4" longer. Thanks for offering though!

Steve Ames used to tell folks that 2door and 4door were the same floorpans when they asked about replacement pans for a 4door.

**edited out some other info that I might be dreaming about. lol

This may have been the case with the ‘64 -‘67 A-bodies where both 2 and 4-door cars all rode on a 115” wheelbase.

Yup, 4 doors had the extra 4 inches in the rear seat leg room area.

I think I have an NOS 4dr left hand rocker but it might be a 70-72. I’ll check on the weekend.

Yes , the info I edited out was about 64/65 style
and 66 style
Interchanging on the Rocker Moldings between 2door & 4door.
.,..then I thought its been so long now , maybe I'm dreaming that.

But I felt certain that one of the small joys of finding those 4doors in yards was the rocker moldings and wheel open moldings for GTO's.

67 of course, was a different ball game on rocker moldings

Back to the fuel pump.

I'm curious if the diaphragm in an original AC fuel pump will hold up to the ethanol in today's fuels? I know lots of elastomers from back then aren't compatible.

I swear by new spectra premium pumps, they look identical, never had a failure yet and they are cheap. I used to buy NOS units but the failure rate was very high, every second one failed within the first few drives. Apart from ethanol they are just too old.

Yeah, I'm probably living on borrowed time, so I better plan on replacing it soon. North, what is the part number of the Spectral Premium fuel pump? Thanks!
