More and more of this stuff is going to turn up either for sale or in the scrap metal pile as the old timers pass away. After my father passed, I ended up with a fairly complete set of Snap-On 3/4" socket set with a huge extension and a bunch of Williams wrenches from 1 -2.5". My younger brother talked my dad into letting him work on lawn mowers and small engines in dad's shop after he retired, and just tossed a lot of tools like the Sun engine diagnostics. He had tool to turn rotors and drums and some tools for big diesel engines that were disposed of.

His machine is in very good shape , there is no way it would have survived all those years in my hands, I am a mongrel a cross between farmer and a Lumberjack. Its not pretty when I work on cars , I used to break my Tonka's when I was a kid.
Ill save it from the crusher if he cant sell it. Peter. |

Snap-on
I had an older Sun like that but no cabinet, it worked but was in rough shape. I bought this one a few years ago, it powers up and has all the attachments and books.

sad that a professional piece of automotive equipment refers to "cycles" instead of "strokes".. Can't stand that; it's not correct, period.

I agree. I started using them in the late '70's. Nothing better to diagnose and tune up old-school cars. You can ID a bad plug, bad wire, weak cylinder, weak coil, bad distributor, etc. in minutes with pinpoint accuracy. I have 6 vehicles I could use it on.

I had a very similar machine to the OP and took me six months to get $100 for it. Ironically enough, it went to Eric Larson's neighbor.
