Default Holley Carb stud? for 67 Tempest

I currently have a screw with set bolts. (see picture) is there an actual part for this to make it look cleaner? The stock cable end is very small. All the throttle cable ends I have tried don't really fit. I am using the stock throttle cable. Not really in the mood to swap out the cable as it works.

Thanks,
Dave

Holley part number 20-37 is the 7/32" diameter stud.
http://www.holley.com/20-37.asp

20-38 is a little longer version but didn't see it online.

If you want to make your own; use a bigger bolt and grind it down to stud size. Then drill a hole in the end for a cotter pin.

Yeah, I have a drop base air cleaner as well. But I have the intake off to change out the timing chain and a new set of lifters, and I figured that I would find something to make that more reliable and better to look at.

I am going to look at the 20-38 part and report back,

Dave

Holley 20-39 or Edelbrock 8009. I used the Edelbrock.

Also. you're in the wrong hole ... should be mounting to the upper hole or using a bushing in the large hole. Makes the throttle easier to control and less pedal effort for better response. Where you are mounted is too close to the pivot point.

I need to take. Picture of the hole in the cable. It is tiny. I might just change it out so it'll have a bigger opening.

Part number of bushing?? I've not seen one.

I chucked the threaded end of the stud in a drill and held a file against the cable post to turn it down to the right dia.

Go to ebay and search Holley carb stud. The bushing kits and cable studs are listed. The cable studs come in different diameters and lengths to match your cable. The use a C or spring clip to retain the cable.

That's funny I ended up doing the same thing with the drill and a file. The stud I bought had a hole in the end for a cotter pin.

I think another thread had this link for the stud option as well but thought I'd included it in here.

http://www.ebay.ca/itm/GM-Cars-Shift...VXUafd&vxp=mtr

I also bought (after calling holley) the 20-38 and you can tell the clip ending is way to big.

The rep from holley even asked me to take a drill bit to tell him the size of the hole in cable.

Grrrrrrrr, can't believe holley doesn't have a part #.

Hey the small hole directly above where the cable is attached in the picture, can one use that hole?

I use the stud mentioned and the bushing in the upper hole so small pedal movement small throttle movement.

Some of the studs have come a little large and I put it in a drill and put a file to it.

Edelbrock has one but they are aluminum I think and feel way too soft. Holley are steel.

The hole directly above the one you have it in will work much better vs the lower hole where it is now. many times you can swap parts between carb manufacturers. I have used Tri-Power Throttle Studs (with a washer and cotter pin for the throttle cable) on Holley carb installations many times.

Thanks Tom, so the best choice is the big massive hole up top, essentially the higher up hole you choose the better position you're in.

Hole where the springs are is good to put a TH350 kick down stud in also.

The carb return spring actually goes into the hole (ear with a hole in it) just to the right of where your springs are now.
