Question Quick Performance Ford 9" for A-Body

Anyone put this in their car? I am really looking at this hard. Want to replace the 3.23 BOP 10 bolt one legger with this. Really like the Truetrac Posi.

If so what variant do you have and did you have to lengthen/shorten the driveshaft?

And how do you like the performance and how was the install? Bolt right in or a lot of massaging, etc?

Thanks.

I used a Currie Enterprises Ford 9" in my 1967 GTO and didn't have to alter anything. Just rolled out the old one and rolled the new one under. Same driveshaft, same u joints etc.

Put the quick performance 9" in mine and love it. Bolted right in. Went with new center section, 1/4" heavy wall axel tube, Billet steel housing ends with oil seal surface, adjustable lower arm brackets, center bracing, drain and fill plugs with jack pad, 35 spline axles and true track posi with 4.11 gears and Yukon center section, Billet yoke, disc brakes and powdercoating. I had new driveline to go with 6 speed T56 Magnum. Check with Mike, he can tell you if driveline stays the same.

I have a QP in my car. Very nice. Had to alter backing plates to get stock drums to work and am currently using stock u joints and driveshaft. They are great to deal with. It will come in 3 packages, housing, chunk, and axles that need to be set up.

I had the spring pads installed but don't use them. Using the QA1 coil over shocks. Wanting to put adjustable coil overs on the front now than can lower the whole car and keep the rake I want..

For shocks just type in QA1 on the web and it will take you to website. Can get them thru Summit or Jegs or most anywhere..

The center section is completely assembled and ready to go. Just put on sealant, bolt down, slide in axles, put in oil and ready to go..

I did the rears only so far. Have not had a chance to work it hard. Definitely notice a difference in dampening when trying different adjustments on the rear shocks. They wanted me to have 500 miles on the transmission, rearend and clutch before I hammer hard on it. Should have close to that now... Want to do fronts this winter then will hit it hard this year..

I had to order the lower Brackets from Ridetech as the QA1 brackets would not clear the passenger side disc brake caliper.

They should be here this week. Ill snap a few pics of them once I have them installed.
