Default Bumper Jig

After a couple more shakedown runs I'll see if there's any interest. I wanted to get a good data base of as many measurements possible from good damage free 68/69 & 70 bumpers so I'll know what to aim for on the more severely bent ones.

Now if you're heading to NC & wanted to bring some of those enduras with you....
Great Idea I really really really want one

Steve, Thanks for the PM with details. I will see if we can make our own jig, otherwise if you decide to do any customer bumpers, I bet I could ship a pallet down there with multiple enduras on it. I can get cheap shipping if you can receive a pallet.

yeah, we just parted that car. Someone gave us the car if we would remove it from the property. Just got a couple of trim/knick-knacks off of it!

Just made a trip to Fayetteville (aka "Fayette-Nam") NC to check on my 66 Fairlane GT convt (in paint jail). Forgot that you were in Raleigh; I should have brought my tweaked 68 hideaway bumper for you to work some magic on!

It would be great if measurements could be taken of NOS bumpers. Or is there any factory sourced specs (like the chassis frame measurements in the shop manuals)?

I looked around a few years ago for an NOS bumper with the idea of using a large (600 ton) press we have at work and make a hardwood mold so that the bumper could be "pressed" back to shape.

"life" got in the way of that project!

I had thought a profile templete of the front edge of the hood/fender edges would be a slick thing to use on straightening especially the 68-69 enduras. There's enough bent & rusted hoods out there to cut the first 6" off of anyway!
