Default Custom header pics

Let's see them! Preferably 64-67 GTO but any year will work. I hope to eventually get some built but not sure how big of primaries will fit. I know some of you guys have them so hopefully you'll post pics!

Thanks
Mike

I just built a set for my Dad's 64 Tempest wagon... 2 1/8 primaries for D-ports. I built them sort of like the old Hedman Hustlers with the cylinder no's. 1 and 2 tubes going in front of the lower engine crossmember, I also used Flowmaster Scavenger collectors. I'll try to get some pics and post them tomorrow for ya! D. Miles

These are not mine but they look like a work of art in stainless. 2 1/8 to 2 1/4 step i believe. They belong to another board member.

Yes those are kooks. Headers. Originally built for an IA1 tall deck 68 Gto for mark scordato. They are very nice. I made some frame mods to get them to fit. He told me they were in the $2400 range new. And that was probably ten yrs ago he had them commissioned.

I'd assume that Kooks would require the car on site to build a custom set? It would be nice to get my hands on a set.

Nice headers. What caught my attention was the adapter plate between the head and the flange. Great idea !! Bet you don't have any exhaust leaks in that area.

I had a set of those on my 64 GTO when it ran 11.55 at 117 with a 400 cid engine.
Later sold them to Jim Brady for his 64 GTO 10 second car.

Thanks! They do have a sub-flange. Just a thin film of ANY color RTV, never had a leak with these headers! These are a set of Hedmans that originally came off of Bruce Maicle's blue 79 Firebird, I then modded them to fit my 79 "Malibu" G-body wagon. Kinda hurt when I cut them up but they went to a great cause... D. Miles

Yes. I called them a couple of months back. They need the car on site for about 2 weeks and cost around $2,500.

What type of collectors are on the large tube headers?

Default Custom Kooks 4-2-1

Here's a set of Custom Kook's 4-2-1 Merged Collector Headers that I speced for a current build that I'm working on.....

BTW, They now have oxygen sensor bungs in the sides of the collectors and collector turn-outs...
