Default New Year One 17" Snowflake Wheels with new tires

Bought these to mount on my TA, but have other things going on at the moment. Brand new silver center wheels with new Nexen N3000 performance tires. 245/45/17 on the front, 275/40/17 on the rear. Dont think its worth the trouble and $ shipping, so this is pick up only in DE.

$1000 and they are yours

Heres the breakdown: Wheels are $750 from Year One plus $120 shipping. The tires are $400 and mounting/balance runs about $100. Total = $1370

This combo was chosen to fit any 70-81 firebird/TA without suspension mods, though lowering the car will enhance the modern look.

The pic is of one of the 245/45/17s to show you the tread.

What was the car you intended to put these on?

428 - These were going on my 72 trans am as one step toward bringing it into the modern world of handling without spending $3000 on custom wheels. Still plan to, but another purchase forces me to put those plans off for a while. The lower sidewall should be the #1 improvement over stock.

There are many posts out there on this forum, and others about these wheels and various tire combinations, and I chose this setup exactly because it will fit any 70-81 firebird/TA without any mods to the suspension. Lowering the car slightly will of course enhance the modern look.

A note about the tires - I bought a set of these Nexen N3000's for my wife's BMW 330 4 years ago after reading in several places about road racers really liking them. I couldn't have been more pleased. They grip very well, and they still look great and have 70% tread after 24,000 miles! To say I was impressed is an understatement. While the grip is not quite as strong as some goodyears and michelins I used to run on my vettes, those tires were usually toast after 16-20 thousand miles, and they were WAY more expensive.

No, sorry......these were specifically designed for the 70-81 2nd generation. The backspacing on the later model cars like yours is very different. These would stick out of your wheel wells.

I like the wheels. Still don't like no sidewall tires in the real world. Now a pair of 275/60/17's would be more like it on back for me! If had the $$ I'd try to buy them

backspacing is 4 and 7/8 inches. That is not stock, but they did their research and figured out they could go a little deeper without clearance issues on a 2nd gen firebird as long as you dont exceed their tire trial size of 275/40/17.

Any idea what the total weight would be, I'm interested in them, but they would need to be shipped to Ohio.
