Good looking 79!

Couple of odd things for a 3600 mile car though. The black coating, that should be on the windshield and back glass trims, is gone. I'm also wondering about the originality of the paint and decals. The positioning of the sail panel decals probably varied a bit from the factory, but those are placed a lot higher than they should be, as if they've been replaced by someone not knowing where to put them. Not that new paint and decals would bother me if done well, but it is being advertised as original.

Also, the antenna is strangely placed for a TA.

Having the original Uniroyals is cool. Just hope nobody tries driving highway speeds on those 34 year old tires though .

Good call on the shiny window trim & sail panel birds.....

When my 80 T/A was just over a year old,the black paint was already falling off the of them......due to lack of ANY prep prior to paint....Perhaps the previous owner just cleaned the paint off....some people didn't like them done in black...

The power antenna in the left rear quarter is aftermarket & was a VERY common upgrade in the day.......the winshield antenna did not do a very good job on pulling in the FM signals back then....

I had a Hirshman ampified power antenna installed in mine (back in the day) and it was mat black to match the window moudings/tailights....

Noticed that it looks like the original clear plastic may still be under the front seats/floormats...

Didn't see a buildsheet posted....

when I bought my 79 new, the first time I went to a car wash the black paint started peeling off of the mouldings. I cant even remember how many times they repainted them under warranty.

Check out the typical "sloppy" rear spoiler end cap alignment.......

If this car HAD been repainted,I'm sure the spoiler alignment would have been blueprinted......

Gotta love all those photos in their link. Exactly what someone who is restoring a 79 would need.

have a 79 s/e with the goofy aftermarket antenna in the same damn spot lol. Pops says back in the day they had to do something cuz the windshield unit could catch a cold let alone a signal. Yeah, moldings need to be black I think, probably got annoyed and steel wooled them all to match instead of constantly repainting them. I like the riveted side moldings over stick on, look more professional to me. Its a sharp car.
