Default log exhaust on G-body

I intend to put a 400 from a 67 Bonnie into a 86 2+2
will the log (cast iron) exhaust manifolds of the bonnie work in a g-body
A-body log exhaust will work fine in a G-body
I've heard you could Not install a-body log exhausts in a b-body
but is the reverse true?

Looking at my 84GP the passenger side shouldnt matter. If center outlet on driver side maybe interfere with steering column, though I dont think it will. If rear out let I see no issue (the 305 Chevy pos in mine has rear outlet on driver side). Neither style is hard to come by. You can get headers from Indian Adventures fwiw.

Thanks for the reply
I will probably go the trial an errer method
was hoping someone had done this before

The issue I have with the G-body and its exhaust is the trans brace
with its only hump on the pass side

since the old 67 bonnie had a good Y-pipe
I'd consider reusing it if I can get away with it.

Summit has the double hump crossmembers for just about any tranny you want to put in your G body!

I had a 79 Buick Regal that I put a 400 from a 70 G/P into, the exhaust manifolds from the a-body are what I used.I also used the headpipes from a 70 a-body for true duel exhaust.I mocked up the driverside pipe and marked the trans crossmember ,then took the pipe to a muffler shop to have an offset put in the pipe.

Cheapy 3 tube headers work also.

Seems the 3 tubes fit everything doesnt it? possible early Firebird headers MIGHT fit but that control arm bracket on the frame might be an obstacle.
