you will need a new tail panel to accept the GTO/Lemans style tail lights. Don't know if anyone makes them repro, but Desert Valley Auto Parts (http://www.dvap.com), Bethels Goat Farm, or someone similar may have a good used one you can have welded in place.

There was a GTO Lemans tail section on ebay a month or so back that didnt sell. Keep your eyes open as I am sure it will pop up.

You would have to have a recessed area where the tail lights will fit into and fasten to. I am not sure if the Tempest has this recess or not, but I doubt it.

You are looking at a lot of metal fabrication if you don't plan on using the tail section of another GTO. Here is what you will need to do to get the lights to fit and sit flush.

Good luck

Jim

don't do it! tempests are becoming rarer than gtos because of this. i actually think the tempest rear looks nicer than the gto rear. i know i'm not alone in this thinking. the gto rear end styling looks like an afterthought in my view. it's your car and you're free to do what you want but i wouldn't do it. how's that for minimum grief.
