Default Tri-Y update - 2 *read post #283*

I will have all the O-port's (only 4 sets) ready to ship by the end of next week. They will be finished & ready to coat by this Fri. Then they will be sent to the coater on Tue & I should have them back on next Fri (I had arranged them to do it ASAP) & if I get them back in time that day I can box them & ship that day. If not I'll have them shipped on the following Mon morning.

Next week while the O-port's are getting coated I'll be working on the D-port's & should have "around" 4 sets ready. Possably even shiped before the O-port's because they will be un-coated sets.

Like listed above there will be more D-port's out the following week. The amounts I can get out may be more as I get more funds. Since I'm alone & 1-2 other guys will double or more the amount done each week. It seems that people seem to want to be paid to work. So until I can pay someone to help these are the best times I can give.

Now the bad news. Since there's been so many set backs & problems through out this run I made sure that there were more than enough pieces made. Just in case during welding there were any problems with "burn through" & destroy any pieces. There were no problem's & it seems I was just paranoid & over caucuses(sp?). So there is 1 F-body O-port & 1 A-body O-port that is extra due to my paranoia.

So if someone needs them email me. I won't be doing O-port's again until after the D-port's are all out.

Ron

I haven't seen any headers. I thought I might be one of those Ron was referring to that ordered D-ports w/o the coating. He said they might be finished and sent even before the round ports he had done got back from the coaters.

I have emailed him just to get another update and make it clear that my shipping address hasn't changed since I placed the order over a year ago.

I haven't heard from him personally since last labor day.

I'm waiting on one of those sets of round ports, haven't heard anything yet.

What's my chance of getting my headers in before VMP (this year)?

I haven't heard anything from Ron. I'm waiting for round ports coated and told him not to ship mine as I'm only 40 miles away and I'll be picking them up. I would think with no shipping I should be one of the first to hear.

Woohoo. Got an email and a picture from Ron. Maybe we'll see the headers soon?

Well by my calculations and Ron's email above we should hav had headers 2 1/2 weeks ago. If they are built and only need coating and shipment, should have been here already. So Goatless, what did Ron's email say? Anything about forward progress?

Ron sent pictures of headers on the car. Progress was slowed again because he cut his hand on the saw when cutting some of the tubing. Ron was learning to do the welding himself due to other problems with getting welders to come to the shop.
The pic's show that at least one set have been produced and fitting the intended application. That was a large hurdle. The next sets should be easier to produce. Barring any other unforseen calamities they will hopefully start showing up in the near future.

Hey, look what came in from HPC last week. Sorry guys, these are from the first run of 4 speed headers. I took them off over the winter and finally got around to sending them to HPC.

Can you believe that guy's luck, I have never seen anything like it. Formula8, those are the baddest looking headers! Man I can not wait to get mine. I have called Ron 3 or four times and I can't get him to call me back.

Gearbanger:

I'm with you dude! You couldn't make this stuff up. Nobody has luck this bad. Seems like there must be more to this story than we are being told.

I have been watching this fiasco develop for a year now. I was going to buy into this back in April of 05 and decided to let Ron get the bugs worked out before I bought. Boy am I glad I did. I don't think I could remain as patieant as all of you have for so long.

The headers DO look awesome and I hope it works out for all of you. I hope to get a set one day.

Those headers are unreal looking. How awesome would a 2 into 2.5 into 3.5" be? Maybe if Ron ever gets the monkey off his back, he can do some experimenting. I wouldn't exactly call what I have been, patient. But, I used to try and call him like at least once every week or two to check progress. Now I might try once every couple of months and he doesn't answer anyway.

What a relief!! Only cut his hand! I thought he might have broken a side mirror driving under a ladder while running over a black cat!
