Yes, please keep the photos coming! Is the late model GTO's floor composite with foam in the middle? Looks like it.....

Cool concept; looks like it has been and will continue to be well executed.

I look forward to seeing more.

I like how you are keeping the rocker panels original looking.

The 2004 floor is steel, it has a coating on it probably for sound deadening, that is probably what you see in the photo.
I'm currently working on getting the front end welded back together. Lots of sitting on the stool staring and thinking...
As far as the rockers, thanks, the goal is to not modify the outward looks of the 65 at all.

Thought I would give a little info on this project..

What I have is a 2004 GTO LS1 6 speed and a 65 Tempest body.
What I have done is start by placing the base of the 65 windshield where I wanted it on the 2004 dash. Then, with the wheelbases being different, I removed 2 1/2 inchs from the 2004 floorpan to center the rear wheels in the 65 wheelwell.
Then I moved towards the front and extended the front 7 1/4 inchs to center the front wheels in the 65 wheelwells. I was oringinally going to leave motor and tranny in original location to the firewall but with the steering rack located where it is that just wasnt going to work. so motor and tranny moved forward with the front wheels. That required cutting the shifter and extending it 7 1/4 inches to center it back in the shifter hole on the body, and entending brake lines, heater hoses and a/c lines.
One good thing about all this is with the extra engine bay room it makes the headers the easiest I have ever installed.
The wiring harness on the passenger side had to be extended...77 wires...cut two at a time and soldered a extention wire in each one..about 4 hours sitting on a stool.
I have used the 2004 power window motors..got those mounted in the doors and plan to use the 2004 power locks..just havent got to that yet.
Almost finished with fabbing up the trunk pan..
currently working on getting front fenders mounted and brackets made to support them.

Got the header panel and grills in today..Thanks Bob..
Spend the day fitting header panel, making brackets and making hood hinges.
At end of day it all fits pretty well. Still have some fine tuning to do. Next is to make brackets for the front bumper.

Still doing bodywork..priming and block sanding..

I havent liked the way the 2004 cowl rolled up to meet the 65 cowl at the wiper area..so last night I took the cut off wheel out and cut it off. after some hammering and welding here is what I wound up with. I like this better..

CrappieCat..I'm in Houston area
