Hey, Schlocky:

What's with the 4.5" bolt circle Cragars?

Why not upgrade?

I mean, if I had HALF your money, I'd burn ALL of mine!

Upgrades coming for bottom end also. Low ii's coming I hope.

I am also an avid duck hunter. The ducks here in SW Michigan do not start coming in until it gets cold. How is the duck hunting in an area where the temperature is warmer (T-shirts)? We don't get real serious until it cools off late in the fall. Our season is now over. We get two bonus days in jan and then we are done until next season.

Tom, I'm a new member just activated my account today. I have a '63 lemans 4cyl. with the automatic. Still have all the original running gear in the car. The question I wanted to ask is the transaxle you are refering to is it a stock or a modified one? I am doing the same as most of the guy's taking out the 4cyl and putting in a V8. I guess the rope shaft and transaxle are the weakest link. Any sugestions will be appreciated.

the V8s used a diff drive train. The drive shaft is larger and the diff has 4 pinion gears. The transaxle I wanted to put in is a special 4 speed auto with a clutch that were made for the 421 SD tempests. The stock 326 V8 drive train with the auto is quite strong. No problem running a bigger CI engine with street tires. The 3 speed wont handle any more than the 326HO.If you want to run the auto you will need your crankshaft drilled and taped for the rope shaft.Tom
