Default 4- banger cams

Does anyone know if factory replacement or mild HP cams are available for the 4 cylinder. I checked with Melling, no luck.

Default Crane

No luck with Crane, they said if they could sill get the cores they used it wouldn't be that expensive. If not they would been to cut a roller cam @ $800.00.

Default 4 cylinder cams

I'm working on getting pricing to have 5 to 10 cams ground. I'm looking to have the cams ground in the area of .450 lift. I will post the information as soon as I get it.

While I understand the concept of lift, duration, etc., I don't know what the numbers translate to. Would this be a race-only cam, street/strip, or....?

You can bet a .450 lift cam is going to be a mild profile... unless he's talking lobe lift in which case you're looking at a race roller set up.

Default Cams

The cams I'm working on will be upgrades based on the 4bbl cam. My goal is to provide a cam that will perform similar to the stock cam and also provide a cam that will be a bit more aggressive, but will NOT be a full race cam. The main issue we are facing is the availabilty of usable cores. If anyone has an original NOS cam or a mildly used cam, I would appreciate your help. My cam manufacture would like to analize the cam BEFORE making the final commitment on specs. Once I get the details worked out, I would like to know the number of people interested in purchasing cams to achieve the best possible price. If anyone has a special request on cam specs, I may be able to grind a few cams as desired, but again the cores are limited. Feel free to contact me to discuss this further.

Ray Bisig has some original flat tappet race cams you could borrow. I used a Isky 550 flat tappet in my first race 4cyl back in the 70's

I put the project on hold pending we could get enough orders pending. The plan was to tool 10 to 20 cams at one time. If I can get a commitment for 7 cams I can move forward.

Thanks.

Isky Cams make several for the Iron Duke they have 14 of them in the catalog. MT used their cams in his engines.
