putting a '02 3800 n/a 5 spd into a 88 formula for my son. right now he has a 86 se 3.1 5spd. i recently sold my 87 2.5 5spd daily driver, it had 224,000 miles on it and it still ran great.

Check my "handle"... (:-

'88 GT here, NICE "survivor". Not restored, but looks great, and the driver's seat is still pristine, after 180K miles!

They can talk bad about them all they want. AWESOME little cars! Purest form of Pontiac since the 30s, too! No other GM division made a car on the platform.

The Ferncliff Flash (AKA Dave Windingland) had one called "FearArrow", with a 455 Pontiac in it. Using a TH325, the thing was an animal! Went high 10s on 87 octane gas. Drove like a Fiero... You can see a couple pics on our website.

He sold it to a lawyer right before he passed away.
The guy followed Dad for miles, flashing his lights, waiving his arms, etc. Dad didn't want to sell it but the guy wrote a check for it on the spot.

That would have been a great car to keep.

My father in law has two 86 Fiero GTs. Both V6 4spd. cars. The white one is Canadian built and is a very nice smooth car. The Red car is a project that needs finishing after it was bought back from insurance company after a total.

There should be a Fiero section here on the forum. Chances are it will be as popular as the 71-74 Ventura area.

A quick search on the web lists 38 Fieros on cars.com and 28 on eBay. These cars are more popular than Venturas!

The thing that makes them so popular is you can swap in just about any newer GM engine.
Ecotec, QUAD4, 2.8/3.1/3.4L, 3800, 3800SC, 4.3L, 4.9L, Northstar, all SBC's including LS1, LS2, and LS4. There is one driving around with a Pontiac 301 in it and a couple with BBC's using the TH125 transaxle.

It has a huge cult following and quite a few businesses that cater strictly to the Fiero.

GTO JOHN

I'm not really in the market for another project right now. But, I am interested in the Fiero. Do you have any pics? And the most important question is does it run?

Words could not even begin to describe having a Northstar in a Fiero.

I can imagine what it would be like on the track! Ok..time to stop dreaming

1986 Fiero GT 2.8 V6 4 spd runs and drives. Clear title. Needs some work but a good project Fiero.

$1500 with some extra parts.

All 4 factory Fiero mags are back on the car now. Pics are a few years old but car looks the same or better.
